STANTON - According to Superintendent Dr. Merl Brandon, Stanton ISD has promoted Cody Hogan to be their next Athletic Director/Head Football Coach for the Buffaloes.

Hogan took over the AD/head football coaching role on an interim basis when Jerry Burkhart left the district after 8-weeks into the season due to family issues.

The Buffaloes finished the season 1-9, missing the 3A playoffs in 2018.

In a statement provided to CBS 7, Dr. Brandon stated, "Mr. Hogan has done an exceptional job assuming the interim athletic director duties over the last several weeks and we are excited to have him officially assume that position. Coach Hogan has 12 years of teaching and coaching experience. Coach Hogan has 7 years’ experience as a defensive coordinator and has served in that role in two different school districts. Coach Hogan also has 10 years’ experience as a head power lifting coach and has served as the regional director for that sport since 2013. This month, Coach Hogan will receive his Master of Education in Educational Leadership and Policy Studies degree from the University of Texas at Arlington."
