No. 3 Kingsville sweeps UTPB to end the Falcons season

ODESSA - UT Permian Softball celebrated the careers of its senior class Saturday afternoon as the Falcons wrapped up their 2019 regular season at home against Texas A&M Kingsville at the UTPB Softball Field in Odessa.

Sloan Springfield and Puava Tulau each played in their final game for the Falcons. McKenzie Brentham played two seasons for UTPB and spent the last two years as a student manager for the Falcons. UT Permian Basin also thanked student athletic trainers Lindsey Post and Brianna Gallegos

A Marathon, Texas native, Sloan Springfield played three seasons at UTPB. A starting pitcher, she threw over 215 innings and appeared in 64 games over three years. She made 44 starts and recorded seven victories.

Texas A&M Kingsville clinched the Lone Star Cofnefence championship Saturday with a pair of 7-0 and 11-0 wins. The #3 Javelinas will host next week's LSC Softball Championships in Kingsville, Texas.
