Newman: UTPB's Washington & Rivera have stepped up for Falcons due to injuries

ODESSA - Last week, UTPB head basketball coach Josh Newman challenged his team to have someone step up in place of some the injured players on the roster.

According to Newman, Jr. forward Miles Washington and Soph. forward Adam Rivera answered the call.

Washington had a season-high 19 points on 6-11 shooting from the field with a pair of blocks and two steals to start the week against the Texans.

Washington came back two games later against Texas A&M Commerce to score 18 points on 7-9 shooting from the floor. He grabbed six rebounds and had a block and a steal on the afternoon. In the same game Rivera had 18 points, 2 rebounds and 2 assists against the Lions.
