MIDLAND - Former Midland High Bulldog and freshman All-American Wide Receiver, McLane Mannix, will transfer to Texas Tech from Nevada, according to a Twitter post.

Back in December Mannix took to twitter to announce, "Due to personal family matters I [he] will not be continuing my [his] education and football career at the University of Nevada."

According to Nevada Sports Net, Mannix left the Wolf Pack due to medical issues with his mother. Going forward, his mother would have not seen him play at Nevada.

By playing at Texas Tech, she will now be able to attend all of his home games in Lubbock.

The former Midland High star football player hauled in 7 touchdowns and 875 receiving yards for the Wolf Pack this past season.

In his freshman season, McLane was named a freshman All-American for the Wolf Pack,

Mannix will have two years of NCAA eligibility left.

You may remember that McLane flipped from Vanderbilt (SEC) to Nevada on signing day in 2017.
