Former starting QB McLane Carter announces he is transferring from Texas Tech

LUBBOCK - On Tuesday evening, Texas Tech quarterback McLane Carter tweeted out that he has decided it is in his best interest to explore other options and transfer from Texas Tech.

The senior was the Red Raiders starting quarterback at the beginning of the season last year. He went 28-51 for 318 yards with two touchdowns and two interceptions.

His career game came in 2017 throwing for 237 yards against the Texas Longhorns in 2017.

Carter says he will use the transfer portal to help find his new home. He thanked the Texas Tech coaches, teammates, students and fans and was thankful for his time as a Texas Tech Red Raider.
