After 30 plus years of coaching within Ector County ISD, Ron King has announced his retirement.

King was the Odessa High head football coach from 2006 to 2015, where he went 42-64 overall with the Bronchos.

Prior to that he was the defensive coordinator for the Bronchos during the 2004/05 season.

The Bronchos won the outright district championship under King in 2009.

In his tenure, OHS made the playoffs four times, winning three playoff games.

In 2016, King took a job with cross-town rival Permian High School as a defensive assistant and has been in that position to date.

Most importantly, King helped the Bronchos secure three crosstown rivalry wins over MOJO.
