ODESSA - A lot of the past few days have been concentrated on how the UT Permian Basin men's basketball team wasn’t able to go back to back as Lone Star Conference tournament champions.
But beneath all that dismay, one major accomplishment was achieved.
Senior guard Daeshon Francis was able to break the Falcons record for most points scored in the men’s basketball program. He did it in only two years at UTPB.
The record stood at 1,1997points before Sunday’s championship game. Daeshon only needed four points to break the record.
He ended up scoring 18 in the game before fouling out.
The record now stands at 1,211 and counting as Francis will most likely add to that total in the NCAA Div. II March Madness tourney.
