Hospital: Eight transferred from cheerleader bus crash scene. Two people are in critical condition, another two in serious condition.

No new information as of Saturday morning.

A representative with University Medical Center Lubbock tells CBS 7 Christina Garlock is in the process of being admitted to the hospital, though could not confirm where or her status. She said they are waiting to see which department she will be sent to.

All calls to Amanda Moreno, the spokesperson for Scenic Mountain Medical Center in Big Spring have not been returned as of Saturday morning.

At last check, eight people were transported to SMMC late Friday night. Four were transferred out of the hospital soon after. According to Moreno, two people were in critical condition, two in serious condition, one listed as not severe and another is still unknown.

The wreckage of an Iraan-Sheffield ISD school bus was being removed from I-20 overnight after an hours-long investigation by DPS. A hospital spokesperson said information would be released as it became available.


According to an ER representative with University Medical Center in Lubbock, Christina Garlock, one of those on the Iraan Cheerleader bus, is in transit to UMC.

DPS Spokesperson Oscar Villareal confirms the scene of the crash has presented challenges for investigators due to heavy traffic and the placement of the median.

Traffic remains backed up in the area along I-20 East of Big Spring.

Scenic Mountain Medical Center Spokesperson Amanda Moreno confirms that one patient has been transported to another hospital for treatment -- but could not confirm that patient's name, condition or which hospital they were sent to.

2 of those are listed in critical condition, 2 others are listed in serious condition, 1 is listed as not severe, and another is unknown at this time.

According to an Iraan football parent, a school bus carrying cheerleaders was involved in a crash on Interstate 20 between mile marker 174-176.

The bus was traveling from Colorado City back to Iraan after Friday night's football game.

The parent says all students are alive, but some are being sent to the hospital to be treated for their injuries.

Severity of the injuries are unknown at this time.
