Woman airlifted to Lubbock hospital after being hit by FedEx truck

ODESSA, Tx. (KOSA) -- The Odessa Police Department is investigating an auto-pedestrian crash that sent a woman to the hospital with life-threatening injuries on Thursday morning.

According to Odessa police, their officers were called to a crash at 5th and Dixie around 9:30 a.m.

When officers arrived at the scene they found that a woman, identified as 37-year--old Samantha Fleming of New Mexico had been hit by a FedEx truck.

Fleming was taken to the hospital and has since been airlifted to a hospital in Lubbock with life-threatening injuries.

Police say that Fleming was trying to cross Dixie when she was struck by the truck and that she was not using a crosswalk.

The investigation into the crash is ongoing.
