All I-20 is back open tonight.

One lane open on northbound Loop 250 on the overpass.

The southbound lanes remain closed on the overpass.

5:10 p.m. Update:

The City of Midland says that a driver has been cited following this morning's crash.

According to a release, a driver in a white 1998 Freightliner Truck Tractor failed to follow the specific route permit for his load and hit the 15'9'' bridge with his 17' load.

The driver, who has not been identified, has been cited for Overweight Vehicle and Failure to Inspect Emergency Equipment.

4:55 p.m. Update:

One eastbound lane of I-20 has now been reopened and a northbound lane of West Loop 250 is expected to be reopened soon.

TxDOT says that the remaining eastbound lane of I-20 will be reopened once the overpass is wrapped.

Officials are urging drivers to not jump medians as it is both illegal and dangerous.

The West Loop 250 overpass at I-20 has been closed after it was hit Wednesday morning.

According to TxDOT, the crash caused severe damage to the overpass.

The Midland Police Department says that the eastbound lanes of the interstate are shut down as well as all lanes of the overpass.

Midland ISD says that a total of 6 bus routes are being affected by the closures for students living in the Westgate Village community and other outer areas of the county.

The buses carry students from Fasken Elementary, Yarbrough Elementary, Lee Freshman, Lee High School and Midland High School. Parents are asked to be patient while the district tries to get the students home as quickly as possible.

Drivers are urged to avoid the area at this time.
