WEEKEND ANCHOR / WEEKDAY MMJ
CBS7 - the top rated, long-time news leader in Odessa-Midland, TX – is looking for a WEEKEND ANCHOR / WEEKDAY MMJ to join our news team.
S/He will be responsible for producing and anchoring LOCAL, timely newscasts on Saturday and Sunday, as well as shooting, writing and editing local stories three days a week. This person is also expected to be able to do compelling live shots, post stories online and on social media, and enterprise story ideas viewers can only see on our stations. You should be able to write conversationally and quickly. We’re looking for someone with a great attitude, who’s willing to learn, and is fun to be around. If you’re a creative story teller and a team player with a good work ethic, we should talk.
CBS7 is a cool place to work too. We’re the only station in the country that has the entire operation inside a shopping mall. We do 5 ½ hours of news a day and have plenty of tools and toys – four TVU’s, a brand-new satellite/production truck and a staff of nearly 30 people. And those people are hard-working folks with positive can-do attitudes. We don’t allow poison in our newsroom.
You’ll need a bachelor’s degree in Journalism, an internship at a commercial TV newsroom, and a resume reel (this is a requirement to be considered.) Must be willing to submit to a background, MVR check and drug test. ENPS and Clickability experience are a plus.
Once you’re hired, you’ll have 90+ stations to choose from all over the country for your next job. Gray Television has the best corporate culture anywhere in the industry. We are devoted to the markets we’re in. We’ve now got the scale where you can start anywhere in our markets and work your way up within the company, into larger markets with more opportunities. We’re not a bureaucratic company. We’re a lean, mean organization that gives opportunity to the best individuals. We develop things from the bottom up, not the top down. It gives us a real unique position.
If you’re interested in applying, go to https://gray.tv/careers#currentopenings -or- https://www.cbs7.com/station/jobs.
Again, you must include a cover letter, resume and a link to your resume reel in either your cover letter or resume.
