Odessa man dies in crash along I-20 in Crane County

CRANE COUNTY -- UPDATE: One man was killed and another person was hurt in Wednesday's crash along I-20.

According to DPS, the victim has been identified as 59-year-old Ricky Struck of Odessa. The man who was hurt in the crash has been identified as Sammy Campos, 44, who is at Medical Center Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

DPS troopers were called out to the crash at 1:30 p.m.

When the troopers arrived at the scene they found that a truck tractor towing a mobile home had crashed.

The driver, Campos, and the passenger, Struck, were rushed to Medical Center Hospital. Struck passed away from his injuries there.

An investigation of the crash revealed that Campos lost control of his vehicle and left the roadway where the truck rolled.

DPS says that Struck was not wearing a seat belt at the time.

Authorities are on the scene of a major crash in Crane County on Wednesday afternoon.

According to the Crane County Sheriff's Office, a truck carrying a mobile home crashed on the north service road of I-20 eight miles east of Monahans.

A man involved in the crash has been taken to the hospital in Monahans with 'major' injuries.

The Crane County Sheriff's Office and DPS are asking the public to avoid the area at this time.
