Train and car collision in Midland temporarily closes railroad crossing

MIDLAND-- A car and train collided in Midland Friday evening, but no injuries were reported according to the City of Midland.

The city of Midland said a driver was following his GPS directions, and turned onto the train tracks.

The car was stuck, and the driver attempted to push it off the tracks.

The guardrails came down, and the driver ran away from the oncoming train.

The train then plowed into the car.

Authorities said no injuries were reported. The railroad crossing at the intersection of Garfield St. and Front Ave. was closed so authorities can clear the tracks.
