Three teens arrested for Odessa porch thefts

ODESSA -- Three teens in Odessa have been arrested in connection to a string of thefts of packages taken from front porches.

All three of the teens have been arrested and charged with Engaging in Organized Criminal Activity, a Class A Misdemeanor.

According to the Odessa Police Department, their officers responded to the 3600 block of Bonham on Friday afternoon for a reported theft of packages.

Dispatch told police that suspects were driving around in a gold SUV taking packages from the front porches of homes in the area.

Once police arrived on scene they were able to find a gold Ford Explorer in an alley in the 1600 block of East Everglade.

Three teens were found in the Explorer.

Officers also found several boxes inside of the Explorer.

According to OPD, one of the theft victims identified one of the teens as the suspect who had stolen packages.

One teen then reportedly admitted to police to being the driver as the other two got out of the vehicle and stole packages.

A second suspect also admitted to taking packages, police say.

All three of the teenagers were then charged and arrested accordingly.
