Texas distillery donating $5 to Balmorhea pool with purchases of bourbon

BALMORHEA, Tx. (KOSA) -- You can now quench your thirst while helping a local park.

The Garrison Brothers Distillery is offering a line of bourbon named 'Balmorhea'.

According to a blog post, $5 is donated to the restoration of the pool at the Balmorhea State Park for each bottle of Balmorhea that is purchased.

In February the Garrison Brothers Distillery donated a total of $30,000 to the Texas Parks & Wildlife Foundation for the restoration, preservation and long-term landscaping plan for the park.

The following description of the bourbon comes from the Garrison Brothers Distillery website:

"Balmorhea was aged in one new white American oak barrel for three years. The liquid was then transferred to a second new white American oak barrel, where it rested for another year. The resulting proof after maturation was 115 or 57.5% ABV. It’s just damned delicious."
