16-year-old dead following crash in Odessa

One teen is dead and four others injured after a major crash in Odessa early Sunday morning.

According to the Odessa police department they say a Ford F-250 being driven by 16 year-old Nathaniel Silvas was headed northbound with passenger Brianna Garcia, 17-years old.

That’s when a Chevy Silverado, being driven by Alberto Galindo, 35, crossed over the median on the 3500 block of highway 385.

The two cars collided head on, Galindo was pronounced dead at the scene.

Both passengers in Galindo’s car, Terrance William 34, and Jorge Zubiate, 39, were taken to Medical Center Hospital, with non life threatening injuries

Silvas and Garcia were also taken to Medical Center Hospital with life threatening injuries.

The crash happened at about 1:56 a.m.

Funeral services for Nathaniel will be held at the Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home in Midland. The exact time and date of the services has not been decided.
