Raymond Corey Harris, 18, has been charged and arrested for Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon and Burglary of a Habitation, both Second Degree felonies.
According to a press release from the Odessa Police Department officers responded to the 2700 block of Idlewood in September for a burglary in progress. The complainant on scene told police that her home had been burglarized and that the suspect had fled from the scene.
Later that same day police were called out to the same location for an assault as well as Medical Center Hospital. Officers at MCH met with the same complainant from that morning, who said that the same suspect had returned to her home and assaulted her with a large brick while she was outside.
Police say that the suspect dropped a tablet as he ran from the scene. A photo found on the tablet was posted on social media, and tipsters identified the man in the photo as Harris.
On Wednesday Harris admitted to OPD investigators that he had burglarized the victim's home before then returning later that day and assaulting her with a brick.
Investigators obtained warrants for Harris, who was charged and arrested accordingly.
A mugshot of Harris was not immediately available.
