ECTOR COUNTY -- A man was arrested after leading deputies on a foot chase in West Odessa.
Ramon Becerra has been charged with resisting arrest, evading arrest and failure to give ID.
According to the Ector County Sheriff's Office, their deputies pulled over a vehicle in the 2700 block of Mercury Avenue on Monday night.
During the stop the deputy noticed that the passenger, identified as Becerra, was nervous and he was asked to exit the vehicle.
A computer check revealed that Becerra had outstanding warrants. When the deputy told him that he was under arrest he began running away.
The chase ended when authorities say that Becerra fell over a fence line. He then refused to let go of the fence and reportedly said: "he was not going back to jail."
With the help of other deputies Becerra was taken into custody and charged.
