ODESSA, TX (CBS) - Convicted serial killer Samuel Little's first court appearance in Ector County lasted less than 10 minutes Monday.
Little confessed to a Texas Ranger that he killed an Odessa woman 24 years ago. Denise Christie Brothers was strangled to death.
During the hearing, Judge Whalen asked prosecutors their status on evidence discovery.
They said they were still collecting evidence, but had turned everything they had so far to the defense.
Both parties and the judge agreed to meet back in a couple of weeks for an update. No definitive date was set.
Little is already serving a life sentence for murdering three women in California, but has also confessed to killing more than 90 women across the U.S., according to the Ector County District Attorney. If true, it would make Little the country's most prolific serial killer.
