ODESSA, Tx (KOSA) -- The Mexican American Music Association held a tribute concert for legendary singer Selena on Saturday at Music City Mall.
Many people turned out to watch a group of performers sing the Texas native's songs.
“She showed the world what she was feeling, what she thinking,” singer Roxana Rodriguez said. “That’s a real artist.”
“Selena’s always been one of my idols,” Joanna Herrera, another one of the tribute singers, said. “Her music just makes people feel things, and that’s what I want to do with my music and what I’m pursuing.”
Selena was tragically killed in 1995. Next Tuesday April 16th would have been her 48th birthday.
