Deputies investigating after man shows up at truck stop with gunshot wound

ODESSA, Tx. (KOSA) -- Law enforcement officers are investigating after a man showed up at a Pilot Truck Stop with a gunshot wound Tuesday evening.

As of 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, the gunshot victim is listed is fair condition, according to The Ector County Sheriff's Office.

The Ector County Sheriff's Office said the gunshot victim is a 52-year-old man who had been shot in the abdomen by a person he did not know.

According to Ector County Sheriff Mike Griffis, the man was shot south of the convenience store, then drove to the Pilot truck stop along Meteor Crater Road.

Sheriff Griffis said the Hispanic man walked into the truck stop with a gunshot wound to the stomach.

A witness told CBS7 that employees attempted to help the man while law enforcement and emergency medical services were on their way to the store.

The Ector County Sheriff's office said the victim was then taken to Medical Center Hospital.

Sheriff Griffis said they do not know where the man was shot.
