Police: Transient died while trying to board train in Alpine

ALPINE -- Alpine police have released new details after a man's body was found on the railroad tracks going through the city.

On Wednesday, November 28 police were notified of a man's body being found by the railroad depot. The man appeared to be a transient/train rider.

According to the Alpine Police Department, 55-year-old John Oliver Brown was trying to board a train when he had an accident and suffered blunt force trauma. Brown passed away at the scene.

Alpine police were able to identify Brown and notified his family living in Hookset, New Hampshire.
