Plans announced for Midland ISD District 5 runoff election

MIDLAND COUNTY -- A runoff election has been scheduled for Midland ISD's District 5 race after no candidate came away with a majority of the votes.

Heidi Kirk, Thomas Wolfmueller and John Trischitti III were all in the running for the seat and election night say Kirk with 39% of the vote. Wolfmueller received only one more vote than Trischitti, making them each receive 31% of the vote.

The Midland County Elections Office says that they are waiting for final ballots by mail, ballots from out of the country and provisional votes before they can decide which candidates will be featured in the runoff.

Early voting for the runoff election will be held from Monday, November 26 through Friday, December 7. Voting will be held from 8 a.m. through 5 p.m. Monday through Friday and the Elections Office at the Midland County Annex will be the only location participating.

Election Day is set to be held on Tuesday, December 11 from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. at the Annex Courtroom, the Centennial Library and the Fellowship Community Church.
