Pecos police officer charged with assaulting Reeves County deputy

A Pecos police officer has been arrested after he allegedly assaulted a Reeves County Sheriff's deputy.
Felix Salcido has been charged with Assault Causing Bodily Injury to a Family Member, a Class A Misdemeanor.
Investigators said Salcido and the deputy were in a dating relationship, and that he allegedly hit her during a domestic dispute on January 18. Investigators said the alleged victim's body showed obvious signs of physical injury.
According to jail records, Salcido was arrested and booked on Friday, January 25.
Pecos Police Chief Lisa Tarango tells CBS7 that Salcido has been placed on administrative leave until the investigation into the case is complete.
The Texas Rangers are investigating the case.
