Truck driver killed, passenger injured after a shooting on I-20 in Mitchell County

MITCHELL COUNTY, Tx (KOSA) -- One truck driver and his passenger were killed and hospitalized respectively, after a shooting that took place in I-20 in Mitchell County Thursday morning.

According to bigcountryhomepage.com, the shooting happened on mile marker 201 on eastbound 1-20 at 6:50 a.m.

According to reports, the victim, who's identified as Noppol 'Noi' Pantiyanurak, pulled over after he saw a car began flashing its lights at Pantiyanurak's 18-wheeler.

As soon as he got out, the shooter, identified as Brandon Christopher Madrid, a local man from Odessa, shot Noi and his passenger.

Madrid was arrested and charged with Murder, Aggravated Assault Causing Serious Bodily Injury and Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon.

DPS says the injured passenger was transported to Hendrick Medical Center. Their condition is not known at this time.

The Texas Rangers are investigating the case.
