One person was killed after authorities say a family dispute led to a deadly shooting in West Odessa on Wednesday night.

The suspect in the shooting has been identified as Dalton Gilcrease, 22. Gilcrease has been charged with murder.

According to the Ector County Sheriff's Office, their deputies were called to the 300 block of North Yealonda for a report of a gunshot victim.

When deputies arrived at the scene they found several people crowded outside of a home and a handgun. Inside the house, deputies found a man who had been shot in the chest. The victim died at the scene.

An investigation of the shooting revealed that a family dispute had turned violent.

Gilcrease was then charged and taken into custody. His mugshot was not immediately available.
