ODESSA -- Police have arrested an Odessa woman after they say she stabbed her sister in the neck and face following an altercation over a family matter.
Kimberly Kay Hamilton, 56, has been charged with Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon (Family Violence), a 2nd Degree Felony.
According to the Odessa Police Department, their officers were called to the 1500 block of East 51st Street on Tuesday afternoon for a report of a stabbing victim.
When police arrived at the scene they met with a 53-year-old woman who had wounds on her neck and face. She was then taken to Medical Center Hospital with serious injuries.
Police also met the victim's sister, identified as Hamilton.
An investigation revealed that the victim and Hamilton had been in an altercation over a family matter. Police say that Hamilton grabbed a knife and stabbed her sister in the neck and face.
Hamilton was then charged and arrested accordingly.
