Odessa police searching for man who tried to abduct boy at Lowe's La Tienda

ODESSA -- Odessa police are looking for a man who they say tried to abduct a boy after school.

According to the Odessa Police Department, their officers were called to the Lowe's La Tienda at 826 West Clements on Tuesday afternoon for a check welfare.

When police arrived at the scene they spoke with two young boy who said that a man had tried to abduct one of them.

An investigation of the incident revealed that two boys were waiting at the store after they missed their bus. As they were waiting an unknown man left the store and watched the boys before walking over and grabbing the 11-year-old by the arm.

It was then that the other boy told the man to let the 11-year-old go and the man walked away heading west on Clements. The boys then ran inside the store and asked for someone to call the police.

The suspect is described as a Hispanic man in his 50's wearing old jeans, a long sleeve shirt with stripes and sunglasses.
