ODESSA -- The Odessa Police Department is on the search for a suspect who they say tried to use a counterfeit $100 bill at Subway.
According to Odessa police, their officers were called to the Subway at 3181 East University on Monday night for a report of a forgery.
When police arrived they spoke with an employee who said that a man tried to make a purchase with a counterfeit $100. The employee was able to tell that the money was fake and the suspect ran away.
Anyone who recognizes the suspect is asked to call Detective R. Celaya at 432-335-4937 or Odessa Crime Stoppers at 432-333-TIPS and reference Case #19-05406.
The Odessa Police Department recently shared a warning about counterfeit money as their investigators and the Secret Service are investigating more than 50 cases involving counterfeit $50 and $100 bills.
