Odessa police investigating weekend shootings

ODESSA, Tx. (KOSA) -- The Odessa Police Department is investigating shootings from over the weekend that sent two victims to the hospital.

According to Odessa police, the first shooting happened on Saturday night at 11:44 p.m. near the intersection of Boulder and Century.

Police found a 30-year-old man who said that he was driving when he was chased and shot by a person in another vehicle. The victim was then taken to Medical Center Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Witnesses told police that they saw a tan or silver sedan chasing another vehicle before they heard several gunshots.

Police say the second shooting happened on Sunday morning at 5:19 a.m. in the 3000 block of Park Boulevard.

When police arrived at the scene they found that a 19-year-old man had been shot by someone in a gray or silver sedan. The victim was then taken to Medical Center Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Witnesses told police that there had been a disturbance and that people began shooting at vehicles and homes afterward. Dozens of shell casings were found at the scene.

Police do not believe that the shootings are connected at this time.
