UPDATE: OPD arrested and charged man who killed a local man on a fatal accident on Saturday night

ODESSA, Tx (KOSA) -- UPDATE 4/19 3:30 P.M. Odessa Police are releasing even more details about the fatal crash that took place on Saturday night on Andrews Hwy. and 100th St., in which a local man was killed.

According to Corporal Steve LeSueur of the OPD, based on the facts and circumstances presented during the investigation, Odessa Police have obtained a warrant for Jon Fitzgerald Hunt, for Intoxication Manslaughter, which it's a 2nd Degree Felony.

Hunt was placed into custody and transported to ECLEC.

The investigation continues.


4/14 UPDATE -- Odessa Police are releasing new details about the major crash Saturday night on Andrews Hwy. and 100th St., which resulted in one local man dead.

Investigators said that 21-year-old Nathan Subia was traveling northbound on Andrews Highway with 32-year-old Ernesto Sanchez around 7 p.m.

52-year-old John Hunt was traveling eastbound on 100th Street and ran the stop sign before being struck by Subia's GMC truck.

Subia was transported to Medical Center Hospital and later pronounced dead.

Hunt was transported to Medical Center Hospital with life-threatening injuries. Sanchez was transported to Medical Center Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Police said the investigation into the crash continues.


The Odessa Police Department is currently Investigating a fatal crash at Andrews Highway and 100th Street.

Police said one person is deceased and another was transported to hospital with life-threatening injuries.

Two others were transported with unknown injuries.

Motorists are encouraged to avoid the northbound lanes on Andrews Highway and use alternative routes until further advised.
