ODESSA, Tx (KOSA) Odessa Fire and Rescue is now five men stronger.
Mark Daily, Randen Hanes, Filimon Navarrete, Hunter Trotman, and Joe Valverde took an oath. Then, each were pinned in by their loved ones as an official firefighter.
Navarrette said he is following in the footsteps of his own brothers by joining OFR.
"It's more than overwhelming. It's such humbling feeling to be apart of a brotherhood that's going to give back to the community," Navarrette said. "I couldn't ask for anything more, it's like a dream come true."
After the new recruits were pinned, Fire Chief John Alvarez awarded the five firefighters with their very own 'rookie' hat.
