MIDLAND -- A new Fire Chief has been selected for the Midland Fire Department.
According to a release, Charles Blumenauer has been named to the position.
Blumenauer has been serving with the department for 20 years and has served as Interim Fire Chief since June.
During his service at MFD Blumenauer worked with multiple divisions including Community Health Paramedic Division, Quality Assurance, and fire station design teams.
“I am honored to be chosen as the newest Fire Chief of the Midland Fire Department. I truly love this Department and this City,” said Blumenauer. “My goal for the Midland Fire Department is to continue our focus on training and education, compassionate care, and professional service,” he added.
Blumenauer holds State certifications as a licensed paramedic, EMS Instructor, Texas Commission on Fire Protection Master Firefighter, Fire Officer II, Fire Instructor II and is also a graduate of the Texas Fire Chiefs Academy.
