MIDLAND -- The multi-million dollar Hotel Santa Rita project received a third extension from Midland's City Council in a meeting Tuesday morning.
The project was originally slated to be started on October 31 of 2016, but has now been pushed back to February 28 of 2017.
The construction completion deadline has been moved from August 31, 2018 to March 31, 2019.
HSR Realty No, 1 Development, LLC., must submit proof of financing for the project by January 31, 2017.
The extension passed with a unanimous vote from council members.
Midland Mayor Jerry Morales told CBS 7 that he is concerned about the funding being there, but says that once funding is locked they can move forward.
The Hotel Santa Rita will be constructed on the grounds of the old Midland County Courthouse in Downtown Midland.
