Much of West Texas under Tornado Watch for Tuesday

A large portion of West Texas and the Permian Basin are under a Tornado Watch for Tuesday night.

Local counties under the watch include: Andrews; Borden; Crane; Ector; Gaines; Glasscock; Howard; Martin; Midland; Pecos; Reagan; Terrell; Upton; Ward; Winkler.

All of these counties should expect large hail up to golf ball size or larger and damaging winds up to 70 miles per hour or higher.

At least two tornadoes have been confirmed to have touched down in the area. The extent of the damage caused by the tornadoes is unknown at this time.

Residents near any possible tornadoes should seek shelter in the innermost room of their home. Rooms with windows should be avoided.
