The Midland Buick GMC Cadillac Dealership is now working to recover after a fire started in the building over the weekend.

According to City of Midland spokesperson Sara Bustilloz, the call for the fire came in around 1 a.m. Sunday morning, and the cause of the fire is still unknown though it appears to be electrical.

On Tuesday General Manager Rick McGilvray was still picking up the pieces after the fire started in the building's office space next to the showroom.

"We'll be fine, and we'll make everybody rest assured that we are protecting their property as well as ours", said McGilvray, "We're doing to best we can to get back in business as soon as possible."

Three of the dealership's vehicles suffered smoke damage during the fire, but all of the customers' cars were left unharmed.

The service area and a room where parts are kept suffered most of the fire damage.

McGilvray says that the dealership is still operating, and that they will be bringing in a temporary building to help serve customers.

The dealership is located at 3205 W Wall St, and is open Monday through Saturday. You can find more details at their website
