STANTON -- A Midland man who pleaded guilty to robbing a bank in Stanton will be spending the next 6 years in federal prison.
On September 17 59-year-old Jose Cruz Iglesias pleaded guilty to one count of bank robbery, admitting to robbing the Community National Bank back in 2016.
This week the federal judge presiding over the case sentenced Iglesias to 78 months in federal prison. That prison term will then be followed by three years of supervised release.
Iglesias was also ordered to pay $197,883 restitution to the bank.
The F.B.I., together with the Stanton and Midland Police Departments, investigated this case. Assistant U.S. Attorneys William F. Lewis prosecuted this case on behalf of the Government.
