MIDLAND, Tx. (KOSA) -- The burning of the Notre Dame Cathedral in Paris has shocked everyone around the world and right here in West Texas.

Midlander Hannah Montez, visited the famed cathedral in 2018 with her family.
Montez took to Facebook when news of the fire broke. She shared pictures from her trip. She told CBS7 this fire is a devastating loss not only to her personally, but also to her church family, Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Midland.
"I wanted to cry, honestly, when I first saw it. I was like, 'oh, my gosh!' And to think that I was out there. I'm just so thankful I had the chance to experience it," Montez said.
