Lawsuit filed against hunting guides in Presidio County shooting

A doctor who was shot multiple times by hunting guides in 2017 is suing both men in a personal injury lawsuit.

Dr. Edwin Roberts claims that someone tried to break into their motorhome at Circle Dug Ranch in the county so he fired a warning shot into the air.

Roberts says that he then went to move the motorhome and was shot multiple times through the windows.

The initial shooting made national headlines after the guides, Michael Bryant and Walker Daugherty, claimed the shots were fired by undocumented immigrants.

Following an investigation Bryant and Daugherty

with using deadly conduct by discharging firearms in the direction of others, a 3rd Degree Felony.

The Roberts are now seeking $1 million for physical injuries and mental anguish.
