KERMIT -- “Every member, they’re crying inside,” Pastor Roberto Moreno said, before breaking down in tears.

Moreno had a hard time describing his emotions after a fire destroyed his church on Sunday morning.
“We built this church with our hands,” Moreno said. “The members of our church put in all of their time and money. So there’s a lot of feelings right now.”
La Asamblea Apostólica De La Fe En Cristo Jesús Jesus was engulfed in flames around 6 a.m., and the entire inside of the building was gutted by the fire.
Shockingly, Moreno said this may not have been an accident.
“What I heard is that somebody broke in,” Moreno said. “That’s what I heard from the firefighters.”
The Kermit Police Department says that a state fire marshal is being brought in to investigate and determine if the fire was a result of arson.
In the meantime, church members are relying on their faith and drawing together to rebuild.
“They’re ready to put themselves to work,” Moreno said. “They already know that the next temple, as scripture says, will be greater than the first one.”
