ALPINE -- An ice storm in Alpine made the town into a winter wonderland on Wednesday.
The Brewster County Sheriff's Office tells CBS7 that while the roads were slick, there was only one car crash where a car rolled over. The driver was able to get out with only minor injuries.
CBS7 spoke with Alpine residents who say they were glad most drivers weren't troubled by the freezing roads and that they were able to enjoy the beautiful scenery.
"Being in Alpine we're surrounded by the mountains in kind of a bowl, so everything just sits and rests and freezes on the trees and everything. It's really beautiful," said Jeff Keeling of Alpine.
The ice caused a brief power outage on Wednesday morning which was resolved in a few hours.
As of Thursday afternoon the roads have thawed out and are now safe for travel.
