Natural Gas Pipeline Explosion Sparks Overnight Fire Near Ackerly

A Natural Gas Pipeline explosion sparks blaze near Ackerly early Tuesday morning.

The Howard County Volunteer Fire Department was originally dispatched to a possible tank battery fire.

Upon arrival, crews found an underground pipeline owned by West Texas Gas failed and was on fire.

The explosion was felt 4 miles away in Ackerly.

No injuries reported and the gas line was depressurized without incident.

Three Howard County Volunteer Fire Department units responded and one unit from Ackerly Volunteer Fire Department.
