Grassroots group marches for science

For Earth Day yesterday, a group of Midlanders held a march in the name of science.

“Suit Up! Permian Basin” is a group dedicated to promoting social justice issues throughout the Permian Basin.

Members spread awareness of the importance of funding for research in the science fields and environmentalism.

"People feel like it's political to talk about science but it's not political to talk about science. Science is something that makes our lives better, it's something that's made our country better from the very beginning,” said Kerry Manzo, with Suit Up! Permian Basin.

Manzo adds that she hopes people see that there are others in Midland who care about the climate and Earth science.
