Jada Berry takes home the Lone Star Conference Offensive Player of the Week, Juliette Akinwole gets the honor on the defensive side.
Berry was a perfect 6-6 from the field in the UTPB blow-out 87-44 victory over Texas A&M International. The win was the largest in program history over an NCAA Division II opponent. The Falcon freshman finished with a career-high 14 points in just 15 minutes while going a perfect 6-6 from the field. This includes knocking down a pair of threes. Adding to the Falcon assault Berry grabbed four rebounds off the bench. Not only was it a career-high, but it was the first time scoring in double figures for Berry in her collegiate career.
Akinwole was a huge part in stifling Texas A&M International in the Falcons 87-44 victory on Saturday. Akinwole snagged double-digit rebounds for the second straight game finishing with 12. Not only a force in the paint, she had a career-high five steals on the afternoon after having just two all season heading into the game. The redshirt sophomore added in eight points on 3-5 shooting in 22 minutes of action. She now leads the Falcons in rebounding with 6.1 per game, after recording just eight total in her first four games.
