Three new coronavirus cases reported at Midland Medical Lodge, total now at 11

UPDATE: One more staff member at the Midland Medical Lodge has tested positive for the coronavirus.

There are now 11 confirmed coronavirus cases from residents and staff at the facility.

According to the City of Midland, the staff member is a woman in her 50s. She is now under self-isolation at home.

UPDATE: Two more residents at the Midland Medical Lodge have tested positive for the coronavirus.

The following comes from the City of Midland:

The City of Midland Health Department is currently conducting their investigation on two new confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Midland County, bringing the overall case count to thirty-nine.

The thirty-eighth confirmed case is a male in his 80s, who was tested by Midland Health. The male is currently an inpatient at Midland Health. The male is a resident at Midland Medical Lodge and was transported to Midland Memorial on April 15, 2020. The source of exposure is contact to known case.

The thirty-ninth confirmed case is a male in his 70s, who was tested by Midland Health. The male is currently an inpatient at Midland Health. The male is a resident at Midland Medical Lodge and was transported to Midland Memorial on April 15, 2020. The source of exposure is contact to known case.

The City of Midland Health Department will continue to monitor the individuals in accordance with the CDC.

The Midland Health Department reports a woman in her 90's who's a resident at Midland Medical Lodge has tested positive for coronavirus.

She's the 8th person at the nursing home to test positive and the 37th case in the county.

Two other residents and five workers also have the virus.

Almost a fifth of COVID-19 cases in Midland County are connected to Midland Medical Lodge.
