Water bills in Ector County to double
The Ector County Utility District is standing by a plan that will cause thousands of resident's water bill to double.
After a long three-and-a-half hour meeting with Tommy Ervin, the president of the board, Ector County residents voiced their frustrations about the increase and also proposed alternate solutions.
The district plans to use the extra money for a new 47 million dollar water system.
Ervin says the current system is 43 years old, and in just a few years, West Odessa residents could be without water.
Ervin also states that if the population continues to increase, the new water system would be able to keep up for the next 25 years.
