2.8 magnitude earthquake rumbles under Gardendale

The U.S. Geological Survey
a magnitude 2.8 earthquake happened this afternoon a little more than 4 miles southeast of Gardendale.
CBS7 has heard from people who say they felt it as far as along Faudree Road.
A recent University of Texas / Southern Methodist University study says earthquakes in the Permian Basin have increased exponentially in the last 10 years, especially around the Pecos area.
