ECISD has named their lone finalist for the superintendent of schools

ECTOR COUNTY, Tx (KOSA) -- ECISD reports that they have named their lone finalist for superintendent of schools.

They have named Dr. Scott Muri as the Lone Finalist for the job. Required by law, the board must wait 21 days before finalizing a contract with Dr. Muri.

Dr. Muri is currently the superintendent of Spring Branch Independent School District in Houston and has been for four years.

He achieved gaps narrowed in 5 of 5 areas, and the overall student achievement rose. He also oversaw the redesign of the compensation system and recruiting efforts to more effectively recruit and retain employees.

Before taking over at Spring Branch ISD, Dr. Muri served as the Deputy Superintendent of Academics in Fulton County Schools in Atlanta, Georgia, a very large school district with 96,000 students and 100 campuses.

Prior to joining FCS in Atlanta, Dr. Muri spent five years at another school district, Charlotte Mecklenburg Schools in Charlotte, North Carolina, and wore a lot of hats during his time with the district.

He was also an elementary school teacher, middle school science/math teacher and was a dean of students at a high school. He also held the title of assistant principal and principal.
