Midland police searching for driver in deadly hit-and-run crash

MIDLAND -- UPDATE: Midland police are now searching for a driver involved in a deadly hit-and-run crash overnight.

According to the Midland Police Department, officers are looking for a Lincoln Mark LT Pickup with damage to the rear right panel.

At 1:10 a.m. Friday morning officers responded to the 12600 block of Highway 191 for a call of an accident with injuries.

When police arrived at the scene they found that a motorcyclist, identified as 46-year-old Efrain Munguia, had passed away from his injures.

An investigation of the crash revealed that a black newer model Ford F-150 or Lincoln Mark LT pickup was traveling east in the westbound lanes when it drove into the median and stopped while facing south in the eastbound lanes.

A Harley Davidson driven by Munguia was traveling east in the eastbound lanes when it hit the right rear quarter panel of the truck.

The truck was last seen driving away eastbound on Highway 191 and taking the FM 1788 exit.

The driver is described as a heavy-set male, approximately 5'11 wearing jeans and a brightly-colored shirt.

One person is dead after a crash between a motorcycle and another vehicle on Highway 191, near FM 1788 in Midland County.

The wreck happened around 1 a.m. Friday. Police on the scene tell CBS 7 the driver of the motorcycle was killed in the crash. The other vehicle involved was not on scene and police do not know what kind of vehicle it was.

Officers were speaking with witnesses to piece together what happened.

Eastbound lanes of Highway 191 were closed for several hours while investigators combed through the crime scene.

The victim has not been identified at this time.
