One driver was killed and another was hurt when DPS says that a truck ran a stop sign Wednesday morning.

According to DPS, their troopers were called out to the intersection of FM 1776 and FM 1450 just before 7 a.m.

When the troopers arrived they found a crash involving a Volkswagen Jetta and a Ford F-350 pickup.

The driver of the Jetta, 19-year-old Christopher Bunch of Bryan, Texas passed away at the scene. The driver of the F-350, 34-year-old Jose Tello-Carrizales of Pecos was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

A preliminary investigation of the crash revealed that Bunch was traveling north on FM 1776 while Carrizales was driving east on FM 1450.

DPS says that Bunch disregarded a stop sign at the intersection and crashed into Carrizales.

Both drivers were wearing their seat belts at the time.

*Bunch's name has been corrected from Brunch after DPS issued a correction to their report.
